More to come...
Nuclear Engineer
Portsmouth Naval Shipyard
At PNSY, I completed comprehensive training in nuclear engineering, including introductory courses, phase-specific nuclear engineering training, and an eight-week program on nuclear systems. I qualified through various checkouts—covering plant knowledge, operating procedures, radiological safety, and practical factors such as data taking, R-training, and reactor start-ups. I observed and shadowed personnel during key operational phases, including STE , STS, CTE, SRW, SRO, and EDO, gaining hands-on experience in reactor operations and safety protocols. I also led nuclear tests during under-instruct watches, ensuring reactor safety and verifying plant parameters. Additionally, I supported testing efforts by reviewing and validating test procedures, organizing and calibrating test equipment, tagging components for safety, and monitoring operations. I attended pre-shift briefs, trainings, problem debriefs, and pre-test briefs to ensure effective communication and operational readiness.
Naval Architecture Student
SUNY Maritime College
During my time at SUNY Maritime, I learned the foundations of engineering, naval architecture, and designed my first sailboat and powerboat. I learned from well regarded professors and industry leaders. I gained invaluable hands on experience restoring the college's flow tank and performing model testing on my Ship Design 3 hull. Shortly after graduation, I passed the FE exam and registered as an Engineer in Training.
